For decades Alloy Bearings has been providing white metal plain bearing solutions to the rotating world. Our experts have solved many bearing issues by repair, re-design, manufacturing and supplying bearings to a wide variety of industries.

In 1958 Harold Wallace moved on from his job at TEAL Airways (now Air New Zealand) and used expertise gained from 20 years in aircraft maintenance to rebuild engines at the newly-formed Wallace Reconditioners in Manurewa, Auckland.
Wallace Reconditioners began remetalling bearings in 1964. Harold's son Phill used expertise and experience gained in other aspects of engineering to apply techniques to the bearing remetalling process.
In 1974 Phill Wallace started Alloy Bearings, making bearings for Broomwade compressors in a small building located in Wellsford. From its humble beginnings the business has grown and moved five times, the most recent move being in November 2017. The present site at 6-10 Hood Street of over 1000m² accommodates our dedicated bearings team.
Stephen Wallace, son of Phill, has been the sole owner of AB Axis Company Limited T/as Alloy Bearings since 2004. Other members of the third and fourth generations are also involved in the business.
Alloy Bearings is in a newly renovated building at 6-10 Hood Street, Wellsford.
Wellsford is located at the junction of State Highways 1 and 16, approximately 80km north of Auckland.
